This one is Super Over! We did some really cool stuff on this feature, including tons of roto, greenscreen composites, and 3D CG fire generation. I was tasked with designing all the screen inserts; there were a ton of them.  In total, we completed over 100 shots in 3 weeks, and had already shipped about 45 shots for the temp delivery in December. 100 shots… I think we all need a Super Massage now.

I just updated my VFX Reel, and split out the VFX stuff from the motion graphics. I have some major updates to the mo graph reel as well, but that will have to wait until I’m freed up from the latest feature work.

I’m working on a feature, this time a comedy/spoof of superheroes. We’ve had a TON of work to do to get everything ready for the temp screenings; there have been 3 so far! Crazy, but that is the job. I have produced a ton of motion graphics for this movie, as well as a series of composites done form green-screen footage. This weekend we started a new sequence from scratch, re-creating the Human Torch look on a character in the movie.  We had to comp CG fire over top of roto/tracked footage of the actor; blend lighting in to the background; match all 12 shots for color. This was a HUGE undertaking, and a team of 10 did it in 12 hours. We should be finalizing the look of this on Tuesday, and we have then have one week to go before final shots are due for film outs. Whew.
